Lavasol™ liquid membrane cleaners remove a wide variety of foulants from polyamide thin-film composite and cellulose acetate membranes. Each cleaner dilutes quickly and easily to form a solution that vigorously removes membrane foulants without harming the membrane surface. Lavasol™ 1 is a phosphate free, low pH cleaner designed to remove inorganic scale and metals from polyamide thin-film composite and cellulose acetate membranes.
Foulants effectively removed by Lavasol™ 1 include:

- Metal Oxides
- Calcium Carbonate
- Strontium Sulfate
- Calcium Sulfate
Lavasol I complies with ANSI/NSF Standard 60 requirements and may be used on potable water systems.
Lavasol™ 2 is a phosphate free, high pH cleaner designed to remove acid-insoluble foulants from polyamide thin-film composite membranes.

Lavasol II complies with ANSI/NSF Standard 60 requirements and may be used on potable water systems.

Lavasol™ 5 removes silica from polyamide from thin-film composite, cellulose acetate, and ultrafiltration membranes.
Lavasol™ 7 is a high-performance alkaline liquid membrane cleaner designed to remove silt, precipitants, sugars and other organics such as oils or greases from polyamide thin-film membrane systems. The low-foaming formulation has strong chelating properties and is buffered to maintain a consistent pH throughout the cleaning process.
